Coreopsis verticillata ‘Zagreb’ is a cultivar of threadleaf coreopsis that is both remarkably floriferous and particularly resistant to drought.

The plant is compact and dense, creating an airy tuft covered in dazzling yellow flowers.

The flowers are golden-yellow and daisy-like, arranged in whorls of three along the slender stems

The leaves are finely divided, composed of glossy dark green foliage. Hardy in well-drained soil, this sun-loving perennial is superb in flower beds, rock gardens, sun-drenched borders, containers, and bouquets.

The plant spreads slowly with the help of a tangle of thin, non-invasive rhizomes.

It thrives in a rock garden, on a poor slope alongside wallflowers, love-in-a-mist, and wild flax, or in a herbaceous border with lavender or snapdragons.

In pots or containers, this plant blooms continuously from the first year – though will require more watering than if she is planted in the ground!

      👨‍🌾GARDENING TIP👨‍🌾:

        • ✂️ Cut back dry stems in late winter.
        • 🪰 All coreopsises (or coreopses?) live longer in soils that are not too rich > they thrive in poor soils, even gravelly, sandy, dry, or calcareous, as long as drainage is excellent.
        • 🏠 The foliage is deciduous and disappears in winter.
