Tradescantia chrysophylla have striking fuzzy green/glabrous purple creeping stems which spread out of any container and trail downwards, optimised for drought-tolerance and low light environments.

In lower light, the stems can become slightly longer and thinner and sometimes they will drop their leaves.
So make sure the light is not too weak and divide the bunch every 2 years as the growth is vigorous and dense – they will even block light for their siblings if it means they can get ahead.
      Shakespearean dramas are everywhere!

As houseplants they often trail, but they are happy to creep along the ground if grown outdoors.
Nota bene: Because their leaves resemble those of a succulent, they are sensitive to frost! If your area is frosty, bring the Baby Bunny Bellies inside for the winter.
An elegant wandering Jew with green and purple creeping stems, the *chrysophylla* variety is optimized for low-light interiors.
Small white flowers may appear all year round, but are rarely produced on indoor plants.

      The Tale

Chrysophylla means golden-leaved – not quite sure why this is her epithet… When the light hits the leaf just right, the green can appear a bright yellow.

      Maybe that’s why?

      Maybe!
