Sedum spectabile ‘Variegatum’ is a highly drought tolerant and visually striking member of the stonecrop family, flashing variegated leaves and soft white flowers in the fall.

The leaves are fleshy, flat, toothed and wonderfully variegated with bright yellow and green tones.
    • This cultivar is distinguished by a bright yellow inside of the lead and a serrated, bright green edge.
The flowers are soft white and star-shaped, appearing as little tufts in the fall.

Sedums are low-maintenance plants that thrive in most soil types.

👨‍🌾GARDENING TIPS👨‍🌾:
    • The dwarf species are well-suited for rock gardens and generally spread quickly.
    • These plants do not tolerate winter moisture well and are sensitive to excess fertilizer, which can distort their growth, especially in upright forms.
    • The color of the foliage depends largely on sunlight and water availability.
    • During rainy springs and summers with less sunlight, the foliage of some Sedum species remains green or takes on less red, purple, or orange hues.

The Tales:

There are approximately 500 species found across the Northern Hemisphere, Madagascar, Central African mountains, and Bolivia.

Many variegated Sedum cultivars are horticulturally developed rather than naturally occurring.
