Sedum spectabile ‘Matrona’ is a late-blooming member of the stonecrop family – drought tolerant, with soft pastel-pink flowers on long purple stems and a spectacularly long flowering period.

The leaves – green fleshy leaves are tinged with soft purple .
The flowers –  star-shaped, soft pastel-pink flowers in the fall.
Note bene: Sedums can suffer in overly moist or fertile soils.

The Tales:

‘Matrona’ is a hybrid seedling (From parent plants Sedum ‘Atropurpureum’ x Sedum ‘Autumn Joy’).

It appeared for the first time in Ewald Hugin’s garden in Germany in 1991.
