Nigella damascena Persian Jewels Mix is a mix of beautiful annuals with long stems carrying flowers in various hues of blue, white and pink.

The flowers have thin petals and are a mix of colors – any hue of blue, white and pink. The flowers are not fragrant.

The cycle finishes in a beautiful oval fruit.

The leaves are long, finely divided, pinnatisect and a lush dark green.

👨‍🌾GARDENING TIPS👨‍🌾:

If you do not want your Nigella to reseed – or you want to spread the Nigella beauty to another part of your garden –

- ✂️Cut the seedpods while green and fresh.
- Tie the stems with string and hang them upside down in a cool, dry, dark location for several weeks
- 💐Use as you please – in a dried flower bouquet or as dried flower arrangmenet, they are particularly stunning

Why is Nigella in the collection if she is an annual, you ask?

The fact is, the re-seeding is so reliable and prolific that Nigella will be as permanent as a perennial if you let it.

Why? Nigella is a hermaphroditic annuals which means that each flower contains both male and female reproductive organs.

What does this mean? Nigella can self-pollinate (though there can obviously be pollinated by various insects and/or the wind as well).
