Miscanthus sinensis is a species of flowering plant in the grass family Poaceae, native to eastern Asia.

Early to midseason – the leaves are a lovely grey-green
Late summer and fall – they leaves becomes a brilliant orange. Slowly, the seed heads begin to appear in late summer, bringing with it the magenta hues.
Winter – the seed heads transform into silky white panicles which catch the light of the rising or the setting sun.
