Phyllostachys nigra ‘Punctata’

Phyllotachys nigra ‘Punctata’ is an ornamental bamboo, known for its black stems that contrast beautifully with its bright green foliage.

Ses feuilles dentelées restent persistantes dans les régions où les chutes de neige ne sont pas abondantes.

The black stems grow to their full height over 2 years, beginning in a green palette and slowly shading to black as they age.

The stems can be repurposed as curtain rods, stakes, fences as the bamboo is both graphically striking and strong.

• • ✂️ In May, make sure to remove the older stems – you’ll see them, they are leafless and begin to turn a bit grey.
